Summer Reading Program 2021

Are you ready for the fun? This year, our Summer Reading Program will be for six (6) weeks!
For this year’s reading challenge our young readers will need to set a personal goal of completing at least 30 picture books, and for our chapter readers the basic starting goal is 6 chapter books, but there are other options as well.

-As always, younger children may be read to by an adult or older child.
-Younger children may be read to by older siblings and both will get to count the books read.
-For our chapter readers, 10 picture books will equal 1 chapter book (but you must read chapter books, too).
-Chapter readers may  share a book and take turns reading to each other and both will get to count the books read.
-As always, you may read books you already have at home as well as library books, but if you want to check out a library book, you will need a UCPL library card.

When you sign up you may choose from one or as many of the following themes as you wish.
The themes are:
“Imagine Your Story”
“A Universe of Stories”
“Together is Better – Read with Someone”
“Book a Trip…Read”
“Read with the Cat in the Hat”

Please Note the Following:
–Registration and the program begin June 7th.
–Late comers are always welcome, but program registration ends at the close of the business day on July 12th.
–Reading logs must be turned in by July 23rd.

We are looking forward to seeing all our summer readers once again, and please remember to wear a mask while inside the library.
