For children and young adult patrons, we are pleased to offer a growing and diversified selection of classic and popular fiction and non-fiction book titles. These include a broad range of age and reading level appropriate materials such as board, and picture books for young children; chapter books for early independent readers; plus novels, for general teen recreational reading as well as non-fiction materials and a variety of online resources for homework, research, and personal enjoyment purposes.
Materials for recreational reading, research, and home schooling can also be borrowed from our Evergreen Indiana consortium partner libraries around Indiana with a library card number and PIN. This is a free inter-library loan service, and can be done at the library or online from home, or on the go with a portable personal device like a smart phone or wifi connected tablet. The library also offers a broad selection of ebook, audiobook, and emagazine titles for young patrons though our OverDrive Digital Collection which are accessible and free to use through the online app, or with the newly released “Libby” app.
“Story Time with Miss Becky” – A Pre-Schooler Youth Program – Thursdays, Children’s Department, 2:15-2:45 (recommended ages 1 to 5, with an adult caregiver).
“Lets Read Together” – A Youth Program – Monday afternoons, 4:00-5:00 in the Children’s Department. The target age group for this program is elementary youth, ages 7 and up.
“Lets Read Together” – A Youth Program – Friday afternoons, 4:00-5:00 in the Children’s Department. The target age group for this program is elementary youth, ages 7 and up.
“Craft Time” Saturdays, 1:00-2:00 in the Children’s Department. The target age group for this program is elementary youth (Grades K-5).
