“UCPL To Go!!” Contactless Pickup and Services

“UCPL To Go!!”

Beginning Monday, July 6th, Union City Public Library will be providing adjusted hours and services for:

– “UCPL To Go!!”, a Contactless Pickup service for requested books
– Fax and Photocopy Services
– Computer use access for personal business needs

For Contactless Pickup Service:
Patrons with a UCPL Library Card will be able to request library books by phone and pick them up at the library, as follows.

  1. Phone the library at 765-964-4748 to speak directly with library staff to make book requests and provide any needed contact or library account information.
  2. Phone requests should be made between the business hours of 2:00 – 5:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  3. There will be no walk-in access for services available at this time.
  4. Patrons who are familiar with placing holds on books remotely by using their personal library card and PIN can place a Hold Request on items from only the UCPL collection through the Evergreen Indiana portal at http://evergreen.lib.in.us/eg/opac/home, and then after doing this can phone the library to speak with a staff member about “UCPL To Go” pick up of requested items.
  5. At this time UCPL will not be able to fulfill any Interlibrary Loan requests from any of our Evergreen Indiana consortium partners.
  6. Patrons may request and check out up to five (5) titles at a time from the UCPL collection.
  7. Library staff will fill requests as best possible and will then phone the patron to arrange a pickup time and provide pickup instructions.
  8. All patron pickups will take place at the table located in the Hickory Street foyer entrance.
  9. Library patrons may return books to the library’s book drop box located near the base of the steps of the front entrance, or on the table located in the Hickory Street foyer entrance.
  10. Patrons with special needs may phone the library to make alternative pick up arrangements.

For Fax and Photocopy services:

  1. Phone the library at 765-964-4748 to speak directly with library staff to make Fax and Photocopy services requests.
  2. Phone requests for Fax and Photocopy services should be made between the business hours of 2:00 – 5:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  3. There will be no walk-in access services available at this time.
  4. Library staff will fill requests as best possible and will then phone the patron to arrange a pickup time.
  5. All patron Fax and Photocopy materials drop-offs and pickups will take place at the table located in the Hickory Street foyer entrance.

For Computer Use services for personal business needs:

  1. Phone the library at 765-964-4748 to speak directly with library staff to make a request to reserve a library computer for personal business for job applications, SNAP applications, email, unemployment applications and reports, etc. (at this time there will by no recreational use for playing games, browsing YouTube, hanging out on Social Media, etc.).
  2. Phone requests for reservations should be made between the business hours of 2:00 – 5:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  3. Computer use will be by reservation only during the designated time period. There will be no walk-in access available at this time.
  4. Youth 16 and under will not be able to use the computers at this time.
  5. Late comers will need to reschedule a new reservation date and time to use a computer.
  6. Computer use will be limited to 20 minutes per individual, per day.
  7. Only one individual per computer work station.
  8. Computer users should plan on not having any additional person(s) at the computer workstation, or waiting inside.
